What is SnapBill?

SnapBill is an OHIP billing app for Ontario physicians. You use it at app.snapbill.ca  or in the iOS and Android app to look up billing codes and physician billing numbers, create claims (including from a photo of your patient list), submit them to OHIP, and track what you’re paid.

This site is the help guide for that app. The pages here explain how each part works. The lookups themselves live in the app.

What people come here for

• Find a physician’s billing number — sign in to the app and search any Ontario physician by name, billing number or city (free account)
• Look up a billing code — fees, rules and add-ons from the Schedule of Benefits

How billing works in SnapBill

1. Add patients — type them in, snap a photo of your list, or import from another system
2. Create claims — billing codes, service dates and OHIP diagnostic codes
3. Check — SnapBill checks health cards, billing rules and required fields before anything is sent
4. Submit to OHIP — claims go to the Ministry electronically through MCEDT
5. Get paid — SnapBill matches OHIP’s remittance to your claims and flags anything paid short
